Each year BC Girl Guides’ scholarship program recognizes our members' many achievements by supporting their educational goals and diverse career paths. Scholarships are open to adult members who are pursuing post-secondary education at a recognized college, university, or trades program. BC Council seeks to support members in their educational endeavours, no matter the career. Guiding involvement and participation are important criteria in the awarding of BC Girl Guides Bursaries, Grants and Scholarships.

This Bursary was established by the Humphrey family in honour of Dawnette Humphrey, a remarkably caring, kind, and compassionate woman who found joy in the sisterhood of Guiding throughout her life. Dawnette started as a Brownie in her own childhood and was proud to fulfill many roles in the organization, including a term as Provincial Commissioner for BC. To every role, Dawnette brought her calm and patient demeanour, her warm and welcoming smile, and her unwavering belief in the potential for Guiding to positively impact girls and women around the world.
